What’s it like visiting a photography studio in Eastbourne?

Family photos in Eastbourne - Photography studio visits go like this:

Eastbourne. Eastbourne Photographer.

Eastbourne. Eastbourne Photographer.

You book a family photoshoot at a local photography studio in Eastbourne. After ages trying to find a place to park in town, and dressed like you’re going to church, your hair slapped down with gel, but with one bit sticking up like Alfalfa, you wander into the studio.

You’ll be greeted by the coffee breathed photographer with wild hair and bad taste in clothes, who will stand you and your family in front of a bookcase, or lay you on the floor with the rest of your family on top of you like you’re in a weird game of Twister, machine gunning her camera and blasting the flash unit on full power, making you feel like you’re in training for the marines and this is the battle desensitising exercise.

Then, for some reason, the photographer will start trying to entertain your young children with a clown routine from a circus. It all happens too far away, or she’s screaming at you, an inch from your face, thinking this is the way to engage your children and make them smile. Plus, there’s a weird smell coming off her.

It doesn’t work.

Now the photographer is waving a cuddly toy at your baby boy. It looks like it needs to be condemned and burned by the environmental team at the council. You’ve already decided, if she touches your precious baby with that thing you’re going to shove it up her arse.

Photographic Studio Sales Session.

After the shoot, you’ll be shown into the sales room - Yes, when you visit a photography studio to have pictures taken someone is going to try to sell them to you - It’s no different at Avant Photographic.

Now, at this studio on the high street, you’re sat in front of a telly to view your pictures and the prices are spewed out in a non coherent way and before you know it, you are presented with an order sheet for a bizzilion photos of your middle child (it’s always the middle child) gurning with an eye half closed, as well as a big canvas in a frame that looks like it’s from the charity shop on Grove Road.

What’s different at Avant Photographic?

Well, for a start, an Avant photographic location shoot is an experience, not an ordeal. We go to the places you love. Your family have been desperate to go to the park or Friston Forest for ages. They want to go on an adventure - the boys want to get muddy, the dog wants to buzz around like a lunatic.

Sitting under an oak tree (or climbing up into one),  for a portrait is so much better than being stood in front of a greco romanesque column and a backdrop of a library.

When were you last in a library??

A family photo should represent your family, not some idealistic cliché. It should be bursting with the pride, joy and happiness being a member of your family brings.

On an Avant photographic location photoshoot, you’ll be having a whale of a time with your family and I will be there to capture it all, in incredible photos like you see on this website.

Ordering photos from a Photographer in Eastbourne

Viewing the images in the ordering session, yes it’s an ordering session, this is where you will choose the photos and decide on the display options that suit your taste and perhaps, your budget.

You buy with your heart, not your head here. But, only if the photos have captured the true spirit of your family and if the smiles are genuine and you have had an experience that leaves you grinning. .

You will only buy the photos and display them in your home, invest in them, if you have invested emotionally in the time spent having them taken.

So, where do you want your family portraits taken..? Laid on a studio floor that smells of feet? Or up a tree, in the woods, wearing your wellies and with your kids laughing their heads off…?

I’ll see you in the woods. I’ll be up a tree waiting for you.

Not really. I mean, I have a family, too. I’m at home now. To get me to the woods, you need to book first. Start by buying your voucher, which is how you pay for me to take your photos, by hitting the button below

No Time to buy one now? Send me a WhatsApp and I’ll send you a link. Or ask me more about what you want from your family photoshoot.
